In The Land of Strawberry Milk
Mini-solo exhibition at Hive Gallery in Los Angeles, CA
October 3 - 31, 2026
In a series of eighteen new works, Anka Yanovna of AGblend13 delves into the world of the Porcelain Forest, where wonders flutter and anxieties lurk under an endless twilight sky. Each intricately detailed miniature is a window into this strange dimension, both figuratively and literally as Anka builds upon her absorption with surreal painted-in frames to border each scene, through which the various characters appear on the verge of springing into our ordinary world. Interactions between adorable kittybees, sentient strawberries, humanoid flower girls and swarms of storm clouds take place in colorful outlands patterned with florals and filigree, an idyllic backdrop to explore relationships between predator and prey. There is something watching from the trees… And we are left with the question, is their scrutiny born of instinct, or malice?
Original paintings on hand shaped aluminum panels
Welcome to the weird world of Art Base Alpha, where two alien beings work tirelessly to create unique art on dimensional wall hanging forms.
Anka Yanovna's strange and silly acrylic paintings capture the emotions and adventures of creatures near and far, from this galactic quadrant and beyond.
Let's go!
Tattoo Cats
In a world where our sweet companions show their personalities with custom dyed fur, which designs do you think they'd choose? Chewable flowers, chaseable snakes, delectable butterflies, and perhaps an unhealthy obsession with sharp stabbing things. Does a knife symbolize their beautiful, beautiful claws? Let's exercise caution, just in case...
Wood Bots
When extrastellar contact with the intelligent trees of Ximia opened their minds to the concept of life beyond, the forestplanet worked as one to create living Wood Bots capable of leaving home planet to see the wonders for themselves. These peaceful ambassadors to the stars are vessels of boundless curiosity and kindness extended to all they meet.
Adventures of Goldfish Bandit
A clinking clatter of glass feet on a staircase... A puddle of water on the showroom floor... The discordant twang of a banjo as it's hurled into a tree... In the distance, sirens.
